Studio Natuurlijk is a Yoga and Pilates studio in the heart of Utrecht City Centre and Online. Breathe and move mindfully to create much needed space and ease of mind. Take great care of yourself so that you can take on anything that comes your way.

After years of exercising off and on, I discovered Pilates in 2008. Regular exercise had never been so easy to maintain. I felt the results immediately: I felt fitter, stronger, more energetic and more radiant. After being on the mat at least three times a week for two years, I was given the opportunity to be trained as a Pilates teacher. Teaching gave me energy in a completely different way: I could guide people to tune into their bodies and experience movement in new ways.

As a teacher I want to convey my love for Yoga and Pilates. I want to give you the space to connect to your inner power. I hope to encourage people to go deeper into the practice of Yoga and Pilates and take your practice off the mat.

In my lessons I want to challenge you to get curious about your body and your breath, to move in a way that feels good and especially: To have fun!

Na jaren van af en aan sporten, ontdekte ik in 2008 Pilates. Nog nooit was regelmatig sporten zo makkelijk vol te houden en waren de resultaten zo merkbaar. Ik voelde me fitter, sterker, energieker en stralender. Na twee jaar minstens drie keer per week op de mat te vinden te zijn geweest, kreeg ik de kans om opgeleid te worden tot Pilates docent. Al snel merkte ik dat het lesgeven me op een hele andere manier energie gaf en dat ik mensen op dezelfde wijze Pilates kon laten ervaren als ik zelf. Heel erg bijzonder en ontzettend motiverend.

Als docent wil ik mijn liefde voor Yoga en Pilates overbrengen en laten voelen. Ik wil de ruimte geven om jouw lichaam op een nieuwe manier te ervaren. Doordat persoonlijke begeleiding centraal staat hoop ik mensen te stimuleren om steeds dieper te gaan in de oefening van de Yoga en Pilates.

In mijn lessen wil ik je uitdagen om je lijf en je adem te onderzoeken, te bewegen en vooral: To have fun!

I still remember my first Yoga class about ten years ago: I had just taken a Pilates class and thought a Yoga class would be nice and calming to end with. I thought it would be pretty quiet and relaxed, but boy, was I wrong!

Now, years later, I am completely in love with Yoga. Every time I step on the mat it feels so special and natural at the same time: connecting mind, body and heart.
It never stops to amaze me!

Even though we tend to forget: we are so much more than just floating heads!
In my classes I hope to get you in touch with your body and listen to what your body is telling you. In an intensive and sweaty practice I invite you to look for the challenge and explore your limits. By keeping the attention on the breath, we go deep into the poses, but always with attention and love.

Ik weet mijn eerste Yogales van ongeveer tien jaar geleden nog goed: ik had net een Pilatesles gedaan en dacht dat een Yogalesje fijn zou zijn om mee af te sluiten. Zonder enig idee wat ik kon verwachten begon de les. Ik dacht dat het vrij rustig en ontspannen zou zijn, maar Boy was I wrong!

Nu, jaren later ben ik compleet verliefd op Yoga. Iedere keer dat ik op de mat stap voelt het zo speciaal en tegelijkertijd zo natuurlijk dat ik mij op deze manier kan verbinden met mind, body and heart.
Ik raak er maar niet over uitgeleerd!

We zijn zoveel meer dan alleen ‘floating heads’! In mijn lessen hoop ik je in contact te laten komen met je lichaam en wat je lichaam jou vertelt. In een intensieve en sweaty practice nodig ik je uit om de uitdaging op te zoeken en je grenzen te onderzoeken. Door de aandacht te houden op de adem, gaan we diep in de poses, steeds met aandacht en liefde.

I have been doing Yoga since childhood. I remember how important those weekly lessons were to me. On that two square meters mat I was allowed to playfully put my body in all kinds of crazy positions. That’s where I learned the importance of breathing and creating space for all feelings.
After my studies in 2016 I left for the Indian Himalayas to follow a yoga teacher training. It is with great pleasure that I now teach Parent & Child Yoga.

I want to teach children a way to find peace in this hectic world. It is wonderful to see how these lessons also release the child in me!In recent years I have been doing a lot of Yin Yoga. I think the combination of Yoga and traditional Chinese medicine is truly wonderful. By nature,I am very "yang" and yin yoga invites me again and again to seek out the "yin" side of myself.
At Studio Natuurlijk I invite everyone to go 'yinwards'.

Al sinds mijn kindertijd doe ik Yoga. Ik weet nog goed hoe belangrijk die wekelijkse lessen voor mij waren. Op dat matje van twee vierkante meter mocht ik spelenderwijs mijn lichaam in allerlei gekke houdingen brengen. Daar leerde ik het belang van ademhaling en om ruimte te creëren voor alle gevoelens. Namijn studie vertrok ik in 2016 naar de Indiase Himalaya om een Yoga docentenopleiding te volgen.

Met heel veel plezier geef ik nu kinderen samen met hun ouders Yogales. Want juist kinderen wil ik spelenderwijs leren de rust te vinden in deze hectische wereld. Het is geweldig te zien hoe ook deze lessen het kind in mijzelf losmaakt!
De laatste jaren doe ik vooral veel yin yoga. Ik vind de combinatie van Yoga en traditionele Chinese geneeskunde echt wonderbaarlijk. Van nature ben ik heel ‘yang’ en Yin Yoga nodigt mij steeds weer uit om de ‘yin’-kant van mijzelf op te zoeken.
Bij Studio Natuurlijk nodig ik iedereen uit om 'yinwards' te gaan.

I started with yoga when I was 18, trying to “become really good at it”. While doing it brought me so much more: acceptance, love for my body and peace in my head. I love everything that comes with yoga: the breath, the philosophy, the sweaty poses and the long savasanas. :) The vinyasa teacher training brought me more depth and from there I started teaching. Not finished learning yet but full of enthusiasm, I want to share my passion for yoga with you.

After effort comes relaxation; that motto is central to every class I teach.

 In my flowy lessons we will certainly light your fire, but we will also take ample time for recovery and relaxation. During class I will help you to have fun, because moving on your own flow means something different every day. Regardless of the day, I hope that you will leave the mat with a little more love for yourself.

Vanaf mijn 18e begon ik met yoga, toen met de modus om er “heel goed in te worden”. Al doende bracht het me zó veel meer: acceptatie, liefde voor mijn lijf en rust in mijn hoofd. Ik ben gek op alles wat bij yoga hoort: de adem, de filosofie, de sweaty poses én de lange savasanas. :) De vinyasa docentenopleiding bracht me meer verdieping en vanuit daar ben ik les gaan geven. Nog lang niet uitgeleerd maar vol enthousiasme deel ik mijn passie voor yoga met je.

Na inspanning komt ontspanning; die leus staat bij mij iedere les centraal. In mijn flowy lessen zetten we je vuurtje zeker aan, maar nemen we ook uitgebreid de tijd voor herstel en ontspanning. Tijdens de les help ik je om vooral ook plezier te hebben, want bewegen op je eigen flow betekent elke dag wat anders. Ongeacht de dag, hoop ik dat je de mat verlaat met een klein beetje meer liefde voor jezelf.

My first yoga class ever was Bikram yoga. So sweaty! Six years after those very first drops of sweat on the mat, yoga gives me so much energy and positivity every day. So I decided: I want to share that with people. In 2015 I started my hatha yoga training, a year later I became a fan of the Ashtanga Mysore practice and in early 2017 I went to India for an intensive hatha / vinyasa training.

Looking back on that first lesson, I could not imagine that I could combine the effort with ease. It took me awhile to discover that yoga doesn't just move the body: working on strength and balance, but at the same time also provides relaxation.

When my head gets caught in a whirlwind, yoga brings that calming breeze. With discomfort in my body, yoga gives just that little bit of attention that makes it disappear (or at least helps me to accept it a lot better!).

Just as yoga makes me a more aware, stronger and more positive person, I also want to convey that in my classes: a journey of discovery with and within yourself. By looking curiously at yourself and the world around you every day. Rest in your head, movement in your body.
With the motto: that which gives you attention grows!

Mijn eerste yogales ooit was Bikram yoga. Zweten dus! Inmiddels 6 jaar na die allereerste zweetdruppels op de mat, geeft yoga me iedere dag weer zoveel energie en positiviteit. Dus besloot ik: dat wil ik delen met mensen. In 2015 begon ik mijn hatha opleiding, een jaar later werd ik fan van de Ashtanga Mysore practice en begin 2017 vertrok ik naar India voor een intensieve hatha/vinyasa opleiding.

Terugblikkend op die eerste les kon ik me toen nog niet voorstellen dat ik al ínspannend ook tegelijkertijd kon óntspannen. Veel later kwam ik erachter dat yoga zo heerlijk ‘t lichaam in beweging brengt – sterker en meer gebalanceerd maakt, maar tegelijkertijd ook een bepaalde ontspanning geeft.

Bij een wervelwind in mijn hoofd, brengt yoga dat verhelderende briesje weer terug. Bij ongemakken in mijn lichaam, geeft yoga precies dat beetje aandacht waardoor dat weer verdwijnt (of waardoor ik het in ieder geval weer een stuk beter kan accepteren!).

Zoals yoga mijzelf een bewuster, sterker, positiever mens maakt, wil ik dat ook overbrengen in mijn les. Als een soort ontdekkingsreis met en in jezelf. Door iedere dag weer met een nieuwsgierige blik naar jezelf én de wereld om je heen te kijken. Rust in je hoofd, beweging in je lichaam. Met als motto: dat wat je aandacht geeft groeit!

Doenja

In addition to my part-time job in primary education, as a gym teacher and remedial teacher, I work as a sports instructor. I teach BodyPump, BodyBalance, Yoga and Pilates. At first I had some preconceptions about Pilates: I thought it would be soft and boring. However, I was hooked after my first class! For me, the focus and controlled strength make a Pilates class both a challenging and soothing workout!

In class I give different options for each Pilates exercise so that you can perform the movements at your own level. You can make the exercises more strenuous or lighter: whatever your body can handle at that moment. Moving with your breath gives you peace and the technique of your movement makes your exercise safe. I would like to help you gain as much from your exercise as possible!

Naast mijn deeltijdbaan in het basisonderwijs, als gymleraar en Remedial teacher, werk ik als sportinstructeur. Ik geef BodyPump, BodyBalance, yoga en Pilates. Over Pilates had ik wat vooroordelen, ik dacht eerst, dat is soft en saai. Na mijn eerste les was ik gelijk om. Focus en gecontroleerde kracht maken voor mij een Pilatesles uitdagend en ook rustgevend.

Ik geef bij elke Pilates oefening verschillende opties zodat je de les op eigen niveau kan uitvoeren. Je kan de oefeningen zwaar of licht maken: wat jouw lichaam op dat moment aankan. Bewegen op je ademhaling geeft je rust en de techniek van je beweging maakt je oefening veilig. Graag help ik je daarbij!

Jochem

In addition to dance lessons, I started working out at home in my student room with YouTube videos to work on muscle strength. Then I discovered pilates, which quickly became my favorite sport (just on a towel on the floor). Thanks to dance, it was always important to me to feel good in my body, and pilates gave this a whole new (better!) dimension. When I got long-covid in 2020, my hobby became my anchor. Although my head did not want to cooperate for a long time, I fortunately recovered physically. After a pilates lesson, I had achieved at least one thing in a day, and I felt mental peace. In 2023, the penny dropped: I wanted to combine my soft sides, connecting with people and enjoying teaching with my hobby. That's why I decided to follow a pilates training — the best choice ever! It was only during this training and with the physical guidance of fantastic teachers that I really began to understand and feel the movements. What a blessing to be able to pass that on in my own lessons!

I hope that you can be yourself in my class. Come in your favorite oversized pajama shirt in which you are the most comfortable, or your matching active wear in which you feel on top of the world. Challenge yourself extra or take it a bit easier; I like to think along with you and give you options for a step more or less. Do what feels good for your body; you are there for yourself and I am there for you, so that you build + maintain strength and mobility in your body. Peace and space in your body, from the mat to home. I like to summarize my class in the closing sentence: with a smile, I hope to make your body smile :)

Naast danslessen ging ik met YouTube-video’s thuis sporten op mijn studentenkamer om aan spierkracht te werken. Toen ontdekte ik pilates, wat al snel mijn favoriete sport werd (gewoon op een handdoek op de grond). Dankzij dans was het altijd al belangrijk voor me, om me goed in mijn lichaam te voelen, en pilates gaf hier een hele nieuwe (betere!) dimensie aan. Toen ik in 2020 long-covid kreeg, werd mijn hobby mijn houvast. Hoewel mijn hoofd lang niet wilde meewerken, herstelde ik fysiek gelukkig wel. Na een pilatesles had ik tenminste één ding bereikt op een dag, en voelde ik mentale rust. In 2023 viel het kwartje: ik wilde mijn zachte kanten, het verbinden met mensen en plezier in lesgeven combineren met mijn hobby. Daarom besloot ik een pilatesopleiding te volgen — de beste keuze ooit! Pas tijdens deze opleiding en met de fysieke begeleiding van fantastische docenten begon ik de bewegingen écht te begrijpen en voelen. Wat een geluk om dat door te mogen geven in mijn eigen lessen!

Ik hoop dat je in mijn les jezelf kan zijn. Kom in je lievelings oversized pyjama shirt waarin jij het meest comfy bent, of je matching active wear waarin je je on top of the world voelt. Daag jezelf extra uit of doe het wat rustiger aan; ik denk graag met je mee en geef je opties voor een stapje meer of minder. Doe wat voor jouw lichaam fijn voelt; jij bent er voor jezelf en ik ben er voor jou, zodat je kracht en mobiliteit in je lichaam opbouwt + behoudt. Rust en ruimte in je lijf, van de mat mee naar huis. Mijn les vat ik graag samen in de slotzin: with a smile, I hope to make your body smile :)

Fabrice

From a young age, I’ve always been a real thinker—I tend to live in my head and in my own little world. As a philosophy student, I still spend a lot of time analyzing and reflecting, but through this I’ve come to understand just how important it is to find balance between head and heart, thinking and feeling.

That’s what led me to yoga, mindful movement, and meditation—and what a transformation that has been! These practices have helped me drop deeper into my body and taught me how to shift between yin and yang, between stillness and action.

After completing my 200-hour Hatha yoga training, I went on to study Yin and Restorative yoga to further cultivate this balance within myself. I’m so excited to share this passion with all of you!

In my classes, creating a safe, warm, open, and welcoming atmosphere is key—one where you have the space to feel whatever arises, without judgment, with softness and curiosity. I also believe it’s important to explore our bodies and movement in a playful and enjoyable way. There’s space to acknowledge what feels heavy, but also to experience joy in movement or to find deep relaxation in stillness.

In the yin classes, we  sink deeper and deeper into relaxation, we breathe, and we let go—so that we can return to the world of “yang” with renewed energy.

Vanaf kinds af aan ben ik al een echte denker; ik leef in mijn hoofd en mijn eigen wereldje. Als filosofiestudent ben ik nog steeds veel bezig met denken en analyseren, maar juist daardoor heb ik geleerd hoe belangrijk het is om een balans te vinden tussen hoofd en hart, denken en voelen. Zo ben ik bij yoga, mindful movement en meditatie terechtgekomen—en wat een verandering heeft dat gebracht! Het heeft me dieper laten zakken in mijn lichaam en me geleerd te schakelen tussen “yin” en “yang,” tussen rust en actie. Na mijn 200-uurs hatha yoga training heb ik een aanvullende cursus Yin en Restorative yoga gevolgd om deze balans ook in mezelf verder te versterken. Mijn passie deel ik graag met jullie!



In de les staat een veilige, warme, open en gezellige sfeer centraal, waarin je de ruimte krijgt om alles te voelen wat zich aandient—zonder oordeel, met zachtheid en nieuwsgierigheid. Daarnaast vind ik het belangrijk dat we ons lichaam en de beweging op een speelse en fijne manier ontdekken. Er is ruimte om te voelen wat zwaar is, maar ook om plezier te ervaren in de beweging of diepe ontspanning te vinden in de rust.

In de yin-lessen zakken we langzaam dieper en dieper in die ontspanning, ademen we en laten we los—om vervolgens weer met vernieuwde energie de wereld van de “yang” te betreden.

During my dance training in 2018, I first encountered Pilates. What started as a wonderful support for my dance training has now become an indispensable part of my life. As a professional dancer, Pilates helps me by simply providing the foundation I need to dance at my best. This made me curious about the method behind it. In 2024, I completed my Pilates Mat training to delve deeper into the magic of Pilates and the functional and conscious movement it entails.

In my Pilates classes, breathing, core control, and alignment form the foundation. Strating with those principles, we gradually build flow, coordination, and complexity. The class is a standard full-body workout that moves the spine in all directions, from strength and control to space and flexibility.

Each month focuses on a new theme. This creates familiarity and depth, while also allowing you to approach the exercises from a different perspective each time. Giving you variation and recognition in every class!

My greatest wish is for the mat to become a place you can enjoy and return to regularly. Not perfect, but present. I invite you to move mindfully, to feel what's happening, and to discover what your body needs. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel strong, connected, and at home in your own body.

In 2018 kwam ik tijdens mijn dansopleiding voor het eerst in aanraking met Pilates. Wat begon als een fijne ondersteuning bij mijn danstraining is het inmiddels een onmisbaar onderdeel van mijn leven geworden. Als professioneel danser helpt Pilates mij door simpelweg de basis te geven die ik nodig heb om op mijn best te kunnen dansen. Dit maakte mij nieuwsgierig naar de methode erachter. In 2024 rondde ik mijn Pilates Mat opleiding af bij om me verder te verdiepen in de magie van Pilates en het functioneel en bewust bewegen wat daarbij komt kijken.

In mijn Pilates-lessen vormen ademhaling, core control en alignment de basis. Van daaruit bouwen we rustig op in flow, coördinatie en complexiteit. Standaard is de les een full-body workout waarbij we de wervelkolom in alle richtingen bewegen. Van kracht en controle tot ruimte en souplesse.

Elke maand staat er een nieuw thema centraal. Dit zorgt voor herkenning en verdieping, terwijl het ook ruimte biedt om de oefeningen telkens vanuit een andere invalshoek te benaderen. Zo blijft de les afwisselend en vertrouwd.

Mijn grootste wens is dat de mat een plek wordt waar je met plezier en regelmaat naartoe kunt komen. Niet perfect, maar aanwezig. Ik nodig je uit om met aandacht te bewegen, te voelen wat er gebeurt en te ontdekken wat jouw lichaam nodig heeft. Mijn doel is om een veilige en ondersteunende ruimte te creëren waarin je je sterk, verbonden en thuis kunt voelen in je eigen lijf.

I discovered yoga in 2013 after moving to the Netherlands, with my first experience in Iyengar yoga. From the very beginning, I knew yoga was something I should never let go of—I loved how it made me feel, both inside and out. Over the years, I have explored many different styles, learning to appreciate the unique qualities each one offers.

As a teacher, my aim is to help you connect with your body and cultivate presence. Whether through an energizing flow or a relaxing practice, I invite you to step away from the outside world and get the best gift—time for yourself.

Nadat ik in 2013 naar Nederland verhuisde ontdekte ik Iyengar Yoga.  Vanaf het begin wist ik dat yoga iets was wat ik nooit meer los moest laten – ik hield van het gevoel dat het me gaf, zowel van binnen als van buiten. Door de jaren heen heb ik veel verschillende stijlen verkend en de unieke kwaliteiten van elke stijl leren waarderen.

In de les help ik je om verbinding te maken met je lichaam en  aanwezigheid te zijn in het moment.  Of het nou gaat om een ​​energieke flow of een ontspannende oefening, ik nodig je uit om je even af ​​te sluiten van de buitenwereld en jezelf het beste cadeau te geven: tijd voor jezelf.

I came into contact with yoga as a movement method during my dance training. Over time I not only experienced how good yoga felt for my body, but also how calm it made my head. Because I wanted to deepen my practice, I started a yoga course in 2019 and then started teaching. I am also still dancing and I enjoy teaching barre classes, a little less zen than yoga, but very nice!

I think it's important that everyone feels safe and welcome in my class and especially enjoys moving. I always like to see how participants dare to listen to themselves more and more over time and move on their own flow. You don't have to do anything but you can do anything, so if you want to lie in child's pose for the whole lesson, you are very welcome! Nevertheless, I also really like a little sweat and a good flow in class. I hope to see you soon!

Ik ben in aanraking gekomen met yoga als bewegingsmethode tijdens mijn dansopleiding. In de loop van tijd ervaarde ik niet alleen hoe goed yoga voor mijn lijf voelde, maar ook hoe rustig mijn hoofd ervan werd. Omdat ik me graag wilde verdiepen in mijn practice ben ik in 2019 een yoga opleiding gaan volgen en daarna les gaan geven. Ook ben ik nog steeds bezig met dansen en geef ik met heel veel plezier barre lessen, iets minder zen dan yoga, maar wel erg leuk!

Ik vind het belangrijk dat iedereen zich veilig en welkom voelt in mijn les en vooral veel plezier ervaart in het bewegen. Ik vind het altijd mooi om te zien hoe deelnemers in de loop der tijd steeds meer naar zichzelf durven te luisteren en op hun eigen flow bewegen. Je hoeft niets maar mag alles, dus als je de hele les in child’s pose wil liggen, ben je heel erg welkom! Desondanks hou ik ook heel erg van een beetje zweten en een goede flow in de les. Ik hoop je snel te zien!




Faciliteiten
